.forum is a new gTLD delegated to the Root Zone in ICANN's New gTLD Program on 01 July 2015. [1] Fegistry, LLC is the registry with back-end services provided by CentralNic.

Applicants

Fegistry, LLC won the rights to .forum in a private auction by outbidding Donuts and Famous Four Media.

  1. Donuts (June Hollow, LLC)- This is one of the 307 domain name strings filed by the company. Its main objective is to "serve the international community by bringing new users online through opportunities for economic growth, increased productivity, the exchange of ideas and information and greater self-expression." Donuts partnered with Demand Media to provide back-end registry infrastructure, AusRegistry for DNS and DNSSEC solutions; Equinix and SuperNap for datacenter facilities and infrastructure; and Iron Mountain to provide data escrow services.[2] This applicant submitted a Public Interest Commitment, which can be downloaded here.
  2. Famous Four Media (dot Forum Limited)- This is one of the 61 new gTLDs filed by Famous Four Media. Its objective is to provide consumers a secure and easy access to online forums through the .forum domain name space. The company partnered with Neustar to provide back-end registry solutions. [3]
  3. Fegistry, LLC (Jay Westerdal)- The company aims to provide a dedicated and identifiable online space for entities committed in creating online forum websites. CentralNic has been selected to its provide back-end registry services.[4]
