Thomas Barrett is the President of EnCirca and TM.Biz.[1] He founded EnCirca, which is an ICANN Accredited Registrar in 2001.[2]

Education

Career History

Tom Barrett has over 15 years of experience in trademark research and protection. Prior to joining EnCirca, he was the Vice President of Thomson & Thomson.[3] He also helped in launching the IP Claims Rights Protection Services for the .biz gTLD. He was one of the founding members of Afilias.[4] At Thomson and Thomson, he led the development of the SAEGIS trademark research platform.[5]

He also served as the CEO of NetNames. After selling NetNames to NetBenefit, he helped NeuStar in launching .biz.[6]

He served as the Vice-President at Thomson CompuMark for 4 years from 1995 yo 1999. He has also worked as a Product Manager at AT&T New Media/Interchange Online Network, Senior Consultant at Accenture, CIM Engineer at General Electric Aircraft Engines and Automation Engineer at Pratt & Whitney.[7] He has also worked with Ziff Davis.[8]
