.law is a generic top level domain name (gTLD) for the legal industry proposed to the New gTLD Program of the Interet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. There are several companies applying to become the registry operator for the TLD, which include:
- Top Level Domain Holdings (TLDH)- a company engaged in providing gTLD acquisition, consultancy services and registry solutions through Minds + Machines, its wholly-owned subsidiary back-end registry solutions provider.[1]
- Radix- a subsidiary company owned by Directi Group, which considered as one of the largest domain name registrar and web hosting provider based in Dubai. The company partnered with ARI Registry Services to serve as back-end registry solutions provider.[2]
- TLD INVEST GmbH- an Austrian company with specialties in providing TLD consultancy services. [3]
Obviously, the law string is highly contested and most probably it will auctioned by ICANN.
