.kpn is one of the new generic top level domain name (gTLD) being applied for with ICANN by KPN, a telecommunications company based in Netherlands to promote and protect its corporate brand. OpenRegistry, a start-up company will handle the application and provides back-end registry solutions for .kpn together with its technical arm Sensirius. [1] [2]
