The Executive branch is responsible in administering and implementing government policies. It is composed of the Premier and the Ministers of the Cabinet. The governor of NSW was given by its constitution the power to appoint Ministers, Judges, Commissioners and Justices of the Peace to form the government. In October 2011, the Government of New South Wales through its Department of Finance and Services issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking for a partner to serve as registry operator to apply for and managed the .sydney and possibly .nsw geographical TLDs on a revenue sharing agreement if approved by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. [2] ARI Registry Services has been selected by the state to serve as registry operator for the .sydney string, however the state is still considering its application for .nsw TLD because under the New Applicant Guidebook, it is not guaranteed that the string will be approved by ICANN. ARI Registry also secured the contract to manage and operate the .victoria and .melbourne string for the Government of Victoria. [3] The company hired Ernst & Young and Melbourne IT to help develop the application for the TLDs. [4]
