Jean-Jacques Subrenat is a writer and former diplomat. Presently, he is the senior advisor to the board of CCRN and a part of EUNIC. He is a former member of the ICANN Board; his term began in 2007 and ended in 2010.[1] He is currently a member of the ALAC, having been appointed twice by ICANN's NomCom, first from 2010-2012 and then reinstated from 2012 - 2014.[2]
Mr. Subrenat is working as a consultant after retiring from diplomatic service; he served as a French Amabassador for many years He is the chairman of advisory board of "Institut Pierre Werner" and a Tutor at ENA.[3]
Education
Jean holds a Ph.D. in history from the Sorbonne University of Paris.[4]
Career History
- Volunteer, French Navy, 1960-63.
- Researcher, CNRS, 1967-1971.
- Since 1972, Dr. Subrenat has worked as an active member the diplomatic service; holding different positions which include policy planning staff, head of the affairs department, diplomatic advisor, deputy director for Asia and the Pacific. Jean-Jacques Subrenat has been an Ambassador to the European Union, Ambassador to Estonia, and an Ambassador to Finland.[5]
Publications
Dr. Subrenat is the creator and the editor of Estonia - Identity and Independence; he also wrote a book titled Listen, there's music from the forest: a brief presentation of the Kuhmo Chamber music festival.
