Ira Magaziner is considered as one of America's most successful corporate strategist before joining President Bill Clinton's as Senior Political Advisor for Policy Development.[1] He also served as Chief Internet Policy Advisor of the Clinton Administration and the main person behind the report, A Framework for Global Electronic Commerce, which became the guideline in creating ICANN, a new private non-government corporation to take-over the technical management of the internet from the U.S. Government and to promote development, competition and international participation.[2]
Education
Magaziner received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Degree from Brown University. He also received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Brown University,University of Rhode Island, University of Maryland and New England Institute of Technology. He was a recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship and attended Oxford University.[3]
Career History
Magaziner started his career as Business Strategy Consultant for Boston Consulting Group from 1973 to 1979. After that he established his own consulting firms Telesis in 1979 and SJS, Inc. in 1990. He also served as Chief Architect of the Green House Compact for the State of Island in 1984 and Chairman of the Commission on the Skills of American Work Force from 1988-1991.[4]
