ECO or Verband der deutschen Internetwirtschaft e.V is the Association for German Internet Industry. Being the largest Inetrnet Association in Europe and Internet Authority in Germany, it strives for the promotion of commercial as well as non-commercial use of internet. The expertise of organization is Internet and technology, and it serves specially for the issues like Child and Adult Security Online, Settlement-free IP interconnection and Cloud Computing.[1] It represents over 300 members including 140 major service providers of Germany.[2]


ECO is one of the founding members of EuroCloud and EuroISPA.

Milestones

In 1996 the eco Forum established the Internet Content Task Force (ICTF). The task of ICTF is to advise members in the area of illegal and harmful material and use of the Internet and to develop counterstrategies to the downside issues of the global network.[3]
