Jun Murai is an expert in the field of Computer Communications and Operating Systems. He is recognized as the Father of Japanese Internet.[1] He was instrumental in establishing the Japanese University Network (JUNET) in 1984. Murai is also the founder of WIDE Project[2]. He is currently serving as Dean of Faculty and Professor of the Environment and Information Study at SFC, KEIO University in Japan.[3]

Awards
Jun Murai received several accolades from different organizations. His most recent award was the 2011 IEEE Internet Award in recognition for for his contributions in the development and deployment of the global internet specially in Japan and the Asia Pacific Region.[4] He also received the following awards:[5] [6]
