Colin Campbell is an Internet pioneer and serial entrepreneur known for having founded and being otherwise in Tucows and Hostopia. He has also held directorial roles with the Canadian Internet Registry Association (CIRA), and the Canadian Association of Internet Providers (CAIP). His most prominent current project is .CLUB Domains LLC, which has applied with ICANN to run the potential .club TLD through the new gTLD program.[1]

His vision with .CLUB Domains LLC is to create a space for clubs and associations that may be under served by current TLD offerings. The potential market ranges from popular soccer clubs, to after-school clubs in small communities, and could serve as a way to showcase the often prideful affiliation between an individual or company and their club. He has been working on the idea for a number of years, and officially formed the .CLUB Domains entity in September, 2011.[2]

Background

Colin Campbell is the Founding Director of CIRA (1998), and a former Director of CAIP.[3] He also founded Tucows in 1998, and founded Hostopia in 2000. He acted as Hostopia's CEO until 2011, guiding it through its sale to Deluxe in 2008. The sale was a $124 million dollar deal.[4][5]
