EDventure Holdings, Inc is a New York based company which was owned by Esther Dyson until 2004, after which it was sold over to a interactive content company, CNET Networks, Inc. which a global firm. Esther Dyson is a catalyst of IT start-ups in several markets such as US, Russia and others and handed over the company to CNET Networks, Inc. in March 19th, 2004 in cash and stock based transaction. Edventure Ventures is the venture capital investment wing of EDventure Holdings, Inc.[1]

History

EDventure Holdings, Inc was established by Esther Dyson in 1978. The company functioned as an independent entity on handling technological issues via its PC Forum executive conferences and the Release 1.0 publications. EDventure Holdings was represented by the New York based Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. in this transaction.

The company headed by Esther Dyson along with Daphne Kis has had the reputation of building fee-based content brands like the annual technology PC (Platforms for Communication) Forum for IT executives, investors and entrepreneurs and the monthly technology report called Release 1.0. The acquisition resulted in the further growth of CNET Networks which benefitted from the analytical and thought leadership prowess of Esther Dyson as well as the award winning editorial team of the company. This helped in the growth of the various business technology brands of CNET Networks such as TechRepublic, ZDNet and CNET News.com. [2]
