Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) is one of the five regional RIRs that allocate and administer IP Addresses and ASNs in the Latin American and Caribbean region. LACNIC is a non-profit organization that is is managed and run by a board of seven directors that are elected by its members. They have approximately 6,000 members spread across the 33 countries where they provide services.
LACNIC meets twice a year in different areas across the LAC region, where they use an open, transparent and collaborative model to create policy around the allocation of IP Addresses. While much of the policy work takes place during the rest of the year, the biannual meetings provide a forum to come together as a community to have discussions and make decisions.
LACNIC 27 is being held from 22-26 May 2017 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.
