Introduction to eNom

eNom was started in 1997 in the garage of its founder and CEO, [Paul Stahura]. As the Internet has grown and developed over the years, so has eNom. Today, eNom is a profitable, stable, and experienced technology provider in the domain name services industry. With a global customer base, eNom is focused on providing the most stable, flexible, and advanced domain name technology platform in the industry.

eNom is a technology company at heart

eNom has grown to become the third largest domain registrar in the world with nearly 6 million domains under management. eNom is the largest domain registrar with a reseller model with tens of thousands of resellers. These resellers either use eNom's world-class application programming interface (API) to buy and sell domain names on their own web sites - what is arguably the most flexible reseller API in the business, or eNom's hosted reseller solution - a customer retail website branded as the reseller's but hosted by eNom.

eNom's resellers are mostly (over 80%) web hosting and web development companies. They range from very large companies to very small shops. eNom provides multiple methods for enabling the purchasing and management of domain names. In addition, eNom provides resellers a host of value added services (VAS) including website hosting, website creation, SSL certificates, and others.

eNom's back-end systems handle about 2 billion [DNS] queries a day. The company maintains its name server constellation across six geographically dispersed datacenters throughout the world, guaranteeing its customers 100% uptime. In addition, eNom forwards over 11 million emails and blocks over 28 million spam messages every day.

More than just a registrar, eNom is experienced in name auctions. In October, 2007, eNom sunsetted its [drop catcher] website ([ClubDrop].com) to partner with ([NetworkSolutions].com) to create the aftermarket auction venue ([NameJet].com). NameJet became the exclusive auction venue for the expired domain inventory of Network Solutions.

Much of the Network Solutions inventory is classified as "Pre-Release" names available at no other aftermarket venue. Unlike backordering Pending Delete domains from the daily drop list ? which may or may not be successfully caught ? the high bid assures you of getting these names.

The site auctions active names, dropped names, and names that are post-expiration. Features include public auctions, private auctions, ascending-price and reverse auctions, proxy bidding, reserve price auctions, buy-it-now auctions.

eNom's innovative reseller model

eNom pioneered the domain name reselling business early on. The firm believed there were many ways to use domain names and that the best way for enabling the market would be to build the most solid platform for buying, selling, and most importantly using domain names in the marketplace. eNom now maintains strong relationships with its resellers all over the world who have come to rely on its commitment to stable and flexible solutions.

eNom has two ways to set up resellers. The first is through eNom's PDQ tool, which is a semi-customizable domain name selling kit for resellers who are less technical or who want something more compartmentalized. The second way to access and provision domain names and the value added services is through the API. eNom's API is consistently recognized in the industry by experts for its variety of functions (over 250 commands) and its scalability. eNom's API gives experienced web designers the most flexibility for selling domain names and VAS.

eNom resellers[2] add extra revenue streams to their domain name businesses by offering eNom's Value Added Services (VAS). eNom's VAS products and services include web site hosting, web site creation kits, SSL Certificates, ID protection services, email services, and website monitoring and traffic-counting tools. As ever lower prices in the domain name industry have forced companies to find new ways to generate revenues, eNom resellers have found that offering VAS products are an effective and valuable way to compete in the marketplace.

Some etp are selling their sub resller account such as www.enomname.com was selling the old $7.95 enom reseller accounts[3].
