Ole J. Jacobsen is the Editor and Publisher of The Internet Protocol Journal.[1] Which is published quarterly. Currently he possess more than 20 years publishing experience in Internet technical information.

He was introduced to networking when early ARPANET was established in 1976. His first involvement was with the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment.

He serves on the board of the Asia Pacific Internet Association which hosts the annual APRICOTevent. In March 2008 he was appointed by the IESG to serve as a member of the Internet Administrative Oversight Committee (IAOC). He also serves as an Attendee at NANOG and an Attendee at RIPE Community.[2]

Ole has been the Vice President for policy area for ISOC[3], Nomcom member at ICANN and Editor and a Publisher at Ziff-Davis.

He was with Interop Company which is now known as CMP United Business Media, since 1987 until 1998. He was the Editor and Publisher of ConneXions - The Interoperability Report, published by Interop Company. The ConneXions archive is available online.[4]

Jacobsen holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computing Science from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He has also studied at Den Norske Skolen, Shioya, Kobe.

Ole is known to organizes pipe organ demonstrations at technical conferences, such as RIPE and IETF, APNIC and hopefully one day during an ICANN meeting.
