.is

The .is domain is an Open Use ccTLD, with registration open to anyone at the top level. ISNIC has reserved the second level domains net.is, com.is, edu.is, gov.is, org.is, and int.is, for possible future use.[3] The very first .is domain, hi.is (the domain of University of Iceland) was registered on December 11, 1986, making it one of the oldest still-active domains in the world.[4]

RIX

ISNIC also operates the Reykjavik Internet Exchange (RIX), for domestic IP interconnections in Iceland. RIX helps increase the capacity and speed of packet exchange in Iceland.[5]
