History
In 1998, Daly and Dyn's CEO Jeremy Hitchcock, along with two other students, Tom Wilde and Chris Reinhardt, founded a free DNS service at their college in Worcester Polytechnic Institute. It was called DynDNS and was birthed from a personal desire to access lab reports on their home computer from a school lab. The business began as a free service but soon grew to a donation-based model, which enabled them to make $40,000 in weeks, from users around the world.[3]
