Andrew Sullivan is the ISOC's CEO and President. From 2012 to 2018, he was the Director of Dyn Inc.'s Dyn Labs.[1] He is active within the IETF, and Mr. Sullivan is the Principal of an independent consultancy service specializing in IT, DNS, and databases. He has run this consultancy, anvilwalrusden, since 2010.[2] Andrew Sullivan's responsibilities at Dyn include leading next-generation technology projects, and evangelizing their current managed DNS and E-mail solutions.[3]
Mr. Sullivan is active within the IETF and attends those meetings and conferences regularly. He also comes with some regularity to ICANN Meetings.[4] He has been the co-Chair of the IETF's DNS Extensions Working Group,[5], and is currently the co-Chair of its SPF Update Working Group (SPFBIS).[6][2] When he became Director of Dyn Labs, it was announced that he would begin to represent the countries at these and other fora, including MAAWG.[7]
Andrew Sullivan was responsible for the highest-profile PostgreSQL database in the world during his time with Afilias.[2]
Career History edit
Previous work includes time spent as an Independent Consultant for ICANN's Variant Issues Project (VIP), and work at Afilias from 2001 to 2008. During this time he was integral to implementing the .info TLD and the take over of registry functions for .org. Andrew Sullivan worked as an Internet Scientist at Shinkuro, Inc. from 2008 to 2011; the company was co-founded and is run by Internet pioneer and ICANN Board's current Chair, Steve Crocker. Andrew worked on Shinkuro's collaboration platform, DNSSEC deployment, and private consultation projects.[2]
