Constituency

Constituency, as defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary, is a group of people who support, are served by, or are represented by an organization, business, etc. In the GNSO, constituency is a technical term for a group of Internet users united around a particular common interest or perspective that is formally recognized by the GNSO Council.

ICANN Constituencies

The Commercial Stakeholder Group is comprised of:

• The Business Constituency (Commercial Business Users),
• The Intellectual Property Constituency, and
• The Internet Service and Connectivity Provider Constituency

The Non-Commercial Stakeholder Group is comprised of:

• The Non-Commercial Users Constituency and
• The Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency
