RyC is the abbreviation for Registry Constituency. It is comprised of the registry operators of the .net, .org, .name, .com, .pro, .museum, .aero, .coop and .info gTLDs, although it is meant to represent the interests of all ICANN-accredited gTLD registries. RyC is a part of the Generic Names Support Organization (GNSO).[1]

The RyC assists ICANN in the development of technical policies, in accordance with the MoU between ICANN and the United States Department of Commerce (DOC). It also seeks to gain quality feedback from the Internet community.[2]

The RyC assisted ICANN in analysis and by providing recommendations for the Board's GNSO Council Restructuring.[3] The RyC has also made several recommendations to ICANN regarding domain testing. The RyC had urged the ICANN Board to review the GNSO Council Draft motion in the year 2008 on the basis that it found several flaws in the motion.[4]
