Mark Partridge is an experienced attorney, author and speaker. He is the founder of Patridge IP Law. His professional expertise include trademarks, copyright, domain names, litigation, strategic planning, arbitration and internet issues.He wrote several books and numerous articles about his field of expertise. Mark also serves adjunct law professor at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. [1]

Mark received his Bachelor Arts Degree in English, Linguistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a J.D. Law from Harvard Law School.[2]
Career Background edit
Mark started practicing his profession as a student volunteer at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau while still studying at Harvard Law School. He won his first appellate case. Since then, he became a lead counsel and triumphantly represented his clients in trials and appellate proceedings. During the latter part of 1980, he started representing Fortune 500 companies after his involvement as one of the experts involved in the merger of Nabisco and RJR Reynolds. He was responsible in coordinating the transfer and registration of trademarks in different countries. He also helped in launching new products and businesses. In the middle of 1990s, Mark was one of the pioneers involved in the development of regulations for domain name disputes. As a panelist to the WIPO UDRP Disputes, he issued and published more than 150 decisions. One of the most popular rulings he made was a case filed by Madonna. He also served as an arbitrator and for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and Lanham Act mediator in Illinois Federal Court. Mark also shares his knowledge in trademark laws to his fellow lawyers around the world. At present, he is an adjunct professor at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago teaching advance degree course on IP Law. He is frequently invited as speaker in different conferences around the world regarding intellectual property protection.[3]
ICANN Involvement edit
As an expert lawyer in the field of Intellectual Property, Trademarks and Copyrights law, Mark represented the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association within the ICANN community particularly the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC). He also served as member of ICANN’s Special Trademark Issues Committee (STI), Implementation Recommendation Team (IRT). He is also a member of the Nominating Committee.[4] Mark is also an ICANN Uniform Dispute Resolution Panelist (UDRP) for the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO).[5]
