Narine Khachatryan has been a Coordinator at Safer Internet Armenia since 2008; it is an organization aimed to raise awareness about Internet risks, privacy and security issues among the general population. She has also been a Co-Founder of the Media Education Center since 2007, which aims to educate the population about being media literate citizens.[1]

She has been involved with ICANN through APRALO, EURALO, and ISOC. She was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 52 in Dublin.

ICANN 50 in London was Khachatryan's first ICANN conference.[2]

Narine has participated in European IG forums since 2009. She has been a speaker at more than 10 international forums and conferences, organized or supported by the European Commission, Council of Europe, Internet Society and represented Armenia in a number of European organizations and networks. Narine is a voting member of Internet Governance Caucus.

Previous Professional Experiences

For years Narine has been engaged in education and research projects at a local and international level. Between 2003 and 2006 she was a coordinator in Armenia of the International Partnership Project ‘Enhancement of Journalism Education in Armenia’ funded through The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. Narine worked for US-based print publications and was a USAID award winning author. She was also a USAID fellow and attended courses and conducted research in the leading media organizations in the US.
