The governor serves as the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and his primary responsibility is to ensure the democracy of the state. The governor's power and responsibility include constitutional, ceremonial and community functions as defined by the laws established by the Parliament. Alex Chernov is the current Governor of the State. [3]

The Premier is elected and supported by the majority members of the Legislative Assembly. The Ministers of the Cabinet help the Premier in governing the State. Ted Baillieu is the current Premier of the Government of Victoria. [4]
