.roma is a new GeoTLD proposed to the New gTLD Program of the ICANN by Roma TLD. The .roma domain name space is intended to provide a dedicated online space for individuals and businesses operating within the City of Rome.

Minds + Machines will provide the back-end registry services for the .roma TLD. It applied on behalf of the partnership.

GAC Early Warning

The TLD Was subject to a GAC Early Warning from Italy; the warning system is noted as a strong recommendation on behalf of national governments to the ICANN Board that a given TLD application should be denied.
