Franck Martin is an Information and Communication Technologies Specialist from Fiji.[1] Currently, he is serving as the Trustee at the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of The Internet Society[2], Email Deliverability Services Engineer at Genius [3] and Chief Technology Officer at Avonsys. He is a former Board member and Chairman at Pacific Islands Chapter of The Internet Society (PICISOC).

Accomplishments

Franck is an ICT specialist with over 15 years experience in information systems, including database systems, network routing and protocols, software development and systems support.[4]

He has connected Avonsys on IPv6 with BGP peering in Fiji. This was the first organization on IPv6 with BGP peering in Fiji. He has also completed the IPv6 sage level at Hurricane Electric. He is the chairman of the IPv6 Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Pacific Islands Chapter of The Internet Society.[5]

During this time he established the operations of two ccTLDs,dotKI and dotNR, as well as an Internet Service Provider.

Franck is also a regular contributor to the open source community, and the Internet community. He is a promoter for Wikipedia in the Pacific Islands. His other projects include Tikimaps] in Tikiwiki, deploying OpenSource website in Pacific Islands that serve interactive maps. He is an author of the SSL Certificates HowTo on the Linux Documentation Project.

Franck is a French national and a graduate of the École Centrale de Marseille and Lycée François 1er de Fontainebleau.

Prior to joining Avonsys, Franck worked for SOPAC, a Pacific-based regional inter-governmental organization, where he led many projects and initiatives in Internet and technology development.
