Bikram Shrestha is the President of ISOC Nepal, and the Head of the Card Center at the Bank of Kathmandu. He was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 45 in Toronto, ICANN 48 in Buenos Aires,[1] and ICANN 52 in Dublin. His history with ISOC's Nepal chapter goes back to its founding in 2008 when he acted as the founding Treasurer until 2010.[2]
Shrestha’s major focus is to bring the world’s latest Information Technology to Nepal and benefit the country. In this beckon, Shrestha is actively working for growing the IT capacity in the country and expanding the organization’s network across the world and has already successfully conducted numerous seminars and conferences in order to introduce the global hotcakes into the country where several esteemed speakers have attended. He has also attended the fellowship program in INET Sir Lanka and Global INET in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Shrestha was one to establish an Internet service provider (ISP) a first of its kind in his locality Hetauda. Besides, he has an interest in music as a result of which, he produced two music albums sung and composed by himself.
Apart, Bikram Shrestha is also as Head- Card Center at Bank of Kathmandu Limited, one of the leading banks in Nepal. Prior to this position, he had worked for Information Technology Department in the bank and had a significant role in implementing state-of-the-art technologies. Shrestha is also serving as the Chairman at Idea ventures, saving and Cooperatives, a cooperative established by the personals with diverse backgrounds in the society.
Shrestha is a post-graduate holder in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.[3]
