June Seo is an expert in Registry/Registrar operations. He is the current Director of International Business Development of Verisign, the registry operator for the .com, .net and .name gTLDs; .cc and .tv ccTLDs and provider of back-end registry services for.jobs gTLD operated by Employ Media. He is responsible in for the Verisign's program management for internationalized domain names (IDN) and the channel development and support for the Asia Pacific region.[1]

Mr. Seo received his Bachelors Degree from Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Korea and his Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis on Management Information System (MIS) from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Career[edit | edit source]
June Seo worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Cable & Wireless as Senior IT Consultant and Project Leader. His job were focused on developing strategic internet and e-commerce related projects for both companies. In 1998, he started his career in the domain industry when he when he joined Network Solutions, which was later acquired by Verisign. Since then, his primarily responsibility for the company is the expansion of the registrar channel relations and increasing Verisign’s brand in the Asia Pacific Region. In 2002 he took part in the policy development and standardization of IDN by joining the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) IDN Working Group. As Director of International Business Development, Seo represents the company to different organizations and conferences involved in creating relevant policies to enhance the operations of the internet such as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, Asia-Pacific Top Level Domain Name Association, Joint-Engineering Taskforce (JET), Multilingual Internet Names Consortium (MINC) and IDN Software Developer’s Consortium (IDN SDC).[2] [3]
ICANN Involvement[edit | edit source]
June Seo is an active participant in the different activities of ICANN. He is a member of the GNSO gTLD Registries Stakeholder Group’s Internationalized Registration Data Work Group, [4] and a member of the joint ccNSO-GNSO IDN (JIG) Working Group.[5]
