Susannah is an independent strategic communications consultant, content creator and project coordinator with a background in Internet governance and multi-stakeholder, community-driven communication and PR. She served as the President & Chair of the San Francisco-Bay Area ISOC Chapter (SF Bay ISOC) from 2017 -2019 and currently serves as Advisor to the Board. She represents the Chapter within NARLAO/At-Large and organizes ICANN Readouts alongside ICANN's North America Stakeholder Engagement Team to help inform the local community of ICANN's work.
She firmly believes that the Internet can empower individuals and communities to change their circumstances through open innovation and access to information and collaborates with organizations working to make the world a better place on- and off-line.
She has spent the last decade promoting and protecting the concept of an open, inclusive and sustainable Internet as part of the Internet technical community and has a deep understanding of the Internet ecosystem, and the issues affecting the Internet’s end users. Susannah has worked in-house or on a consultancy basis for organizations including ICANN, the RIPE NCC, AFRINIC, the Seed Alliance and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) to name a few. She was also part of the core writing team working on IANA Oversight Transition Work Stream 1 documentation. She currently works for the NRO / ASO Secretariat.
Susannah also helped put together the Panel on Promoting a More Inclusive Internet at the IGF-USA 2017 and the panel on Connecting Broadband with Economic Opportunities: Challenges and Success Stories at the IGF-USA 2018. She was part of the organising team for the first North American School of Internet Governance (NASIG) and is involved with the 2019 School being held in Montreal.
