The organizations aims to improve the businesses, culture, tourism and the online identity of the Quebec and Quebecers through the .quebec TLD.[1] The application for the .quebec string is supported by the Quebec National Assembly, [2] and other cultural, technical, and economic instituions in the city. It has received "substantial financial support from the Québec government", and is a not-for profit organization. The organization will verify legitimate registations via statements of intent through a post-verification registration system.[3]
