Aaron Falk

Currently, Aaron Falk works as a computer scientist at USC Information Sciences Institute in the United States. In addition to his research in networking, Falk occupies himself in the fields of network architecture, congestion control, and satellite networking.

Involved with the IETF since 1996, Falk is a chairman of the TCPSAT, PILC, and the DCCP working groups. Falk is also the RFC editor contract at the ISI.

Falk received his education from the University of Maryland, where he helped to design and implement a system that was capable of providing broadband Internet access with a satellite dish that could only receive data. His background also extends in satellite design, and he played a key role in developing satellite network architecture at TRW, Hughes, and PanAmSat.

Currently, Falk is working to develop a new implementation of XCP, a new approach to congestion control protocol, and is exploring performance and functional issues dealing with Internet protocols moving between packet-switching satellites.
