In July 2012, Dr. Al-Zoman became the first person to write in opposition of all of the proposed .gay gTLD's in the ICANN new gTLD comment forum (https://gtldcomment.icann.org/comments-feedback/applicationcomment/commentdetails/1358).  Having benefited personally from being educated in Canada, an open and tolerant society, Dr. Al-Zoman wrote, "The applied-for gTLD string (gay) is not welcomed in many societies and communities and is against the law and public morality."
