Dan Halloran is ICANN's Chief Data Protection Officer as of July 2017. Prior to this he served as ICANN's Deputy General Counsel. He works with John Jeffrey on all ICANN-related legal matters. His area of professional area of interest is gTLD registrar and registry matters.
Dan is a graduate of Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount, and has studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma of México. Dan is fluent in Spanish, familiar with Portuguese, and has studied Mandarin Chinese.
Halloran is one of the longest-serving employees at ICANN, having joined the organization in May 2000. At ICANN he has worked at several posts, including Registrar Liaison, Chief Registrar Liaison, and Acting Secretary.
