Joao Nuno Ferreira is the Technical Director at the Foundation for National Scientific Computing (FCCN). Previously, he was the Head of the Technical Staff at FCCN.[1]

As the Technical Director at FCCN, Joao Nuno Ferreira has stressed the importance of migrating from IPv4 to IPv6, due to an overflow of IPv4 adresses.[2]

Joao Nuno Ferreira is the coordinator of the Administration and Practice Group of the IPv6 Task force. [3]

Joao Nuno Ferreira is also very involved with the Feasibility Study for African – European Research and Education Network Interconnection (FEAST) Project which deals with NREN Twinning between African and European NRENs.[4] [5]
