Jon Peterson is a Senior Director and Fellow at Neustar Inc.[1] He is an expert on security and network routing.[2]

Jon is a Member of the Internet Architecture Board.[3] The IAB is an independent committee of researchers and professionals who are deeply committed to make the Internet function effectively.

Jon has also been actively involved with the IETF, and he has served as its Director for 6 years. He is a Member of the related organization, the Internet Engineering Steering Group.[4] He was a Co-Director of the Transport Area from 2003 to 2006[5] and Co-Director of the Real-time Applications and Infrastructure area, from 2006 to 2009.[6]

He was also a Member of the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) of the ICANN.[7]

He has been instrumental in the development of a large number of RFCs including the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).[8]
