Katrin Ohlmer is partner of dotBERLIN GmbH & Co. KG and has been one of the CEOs/Managing Directors at HOTEL Top-Level Domain S.a.r.l (.hotel) until March 2016. She is also the CEO of DOTZON GmbH.

Katrin also has been a speaker at numerous conferences on the topic of top-level domains, including InternetDagarna, NamesCon, World Hosting Days, newdomains, IGF-D and others. She is a regular participant of ICANN and related meetings and a member of several ICANN working groups.[1]

Since May 2017, Katrin is a member of the eco Association Names & Numbers Steering Committee.[2] She is chairwoman of ISOC.DE e.V., the German Chapter of the Internet Society.

Past Work

She has been working in the Internet industry since 1994. She started her career as Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager of Leased Lines and Security Products at UUNET, which became acquired by MCI/Worldcom. Later she helped introcude Wireless Local Lan (WLL) Internet Access as Head of Marketing for Firstmark Communications in Germany, and served in various functions as Marketing Director and Spokesperson for software manufacturers.

In 2001, Katrin Ohlmer started her consultancy, providing advice with regards to marketing, communications, and strategy. Among others, she has worked for PSINet Europe and Deutsche Telekom as a consultant.[3]

In 2005 Katrin joined the .berlin TLD project, where she is Co-CEO and responsible for marketing and communication.

In 2007 she co-founded the gTLD consultancy DOTZON GmbH.

Education

Katrin has received her education from Technische Universität Braunschweig and Universität Hannover,[4] she has a diploma in business administration and economics.[5]
