.ads is a delegated TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program by Google through its subsidiary company, Charleston Road Registry Inc.. Google (Charleston Road Registry Inc.) manages the TLD and is its Registry. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 24 March, 2015.[1]

It is one of the 101 new domain name strings filed by the search engine giant to the Internet governing body to get an approval for its delegation to the root zone of the Internet domain name system DNS and to serve as its registry operator. The main contact person in the application is Sarah Falvey, Senior Policy Analyst of Google. [2]

The main objective of the company in applying for the delegation of the .ads domain name string is to provide a dedicated domain name space for advertisers. The back-end registry services will be taken care of in-house.[3]
