.guide is a gTLD that was proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. Donuts' application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 15 May 2014, making the company the Registry Operator for the string.[1]

Private Auction[edit | edit source]
The string originally had two applicants, Donuts and Top Level Domain Holdings, though the former won the rights to the string in a private auction held in August 2013 by Innovative Auctions. The total amount was not disclosed though the 8 total auctions that were cumulatively valued at $9.65 million.[2]
Contract Signed[edit | edit source]
On 13 September 2013, Donuts received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .guide after passing the Initial Evaluation.[3]
Delegation and Availability[edit | edit source]
.guide was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on 15 May, 2014, completing the successful application for the string.[1]
