Ashley Cross is the General Manager of GM, E-commerce Diffusion in The Australian Government Information Management Office (former Australian National Office for the Information Economy). He is also the former Australian Representative to ICANN's GAC.
Ashley Cross has published several articles and research papers on the Internet and Domain industry of Australia. He acts as the Australian representative for different meetings and events held by national and international Internet Industry related organizations.
In April 2006, Ashley Cross wrote a letter to ICANN's domain name policy making organization, GNSO Council, about the new policy on the purpose of Whois. This letter caused considerable amount of specualtions among the Internet and Domain specialists as some of them critisized his stand as a GAC representative and his role in the Australian Government for the new privacy issue.
