Hamburg Top-Level-Domain GmbH is a German company applying to become the registry operator of the geographical TLD .hamburg in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The company was established in 2007 by Oliver Süme , Dirk Krischenowski,and Katrin Ohlmer and Johannes Lenz-Ohlmer Hawliczek, with the objective to provide an online space for the residents, businesses and tourist industry of the city of Hamburg.[1]

The company announced its interest to apply for the .harmburg string during the ICANN 33 meeting in Cairo in November, 2008. [2] The company selected, Austrian-based company as its back-end registry service provider.
