ICANNWiki is made possible by a dedicated and enthusiastic group of volunteer editors that work together to create the most accessible resource on topics related to ICANN and Internet governance. Maintaining a robust resource in 6+ languages would be impossible without our global community and we want to show our appreciation by recognizing the members of our community that contribute in various ways and at various levels.

Since ICANNWiki is one of the most used resources in the Internet governance for learning about the people involved, we use our contributors profiles to recognize their work through the use of Badges.

Example

Currently our highest level of recognition is the ICANNWiki Ambassador. These are individuals that have gone beyond editing and taken steps to promote our projects and build our community around the world. For our Ambassadors, we provide a badge that shows this status in the profile's userbox, like seen below:

Types and Levels of Recognition

Each of the following titles earns the individual the corresponding badge.
Notes:

  • All requirements are subject to the review of ICANNWiki. No edit is too small, or unimportant, but to earn Top Editor status, we expect to substantive contributions.
  • Number of edits, articles created, etc do not include work on your personal article
Title Requirement Badge
Editor To earn and maintain Editor status, you must have a minimum of 10 total substantive edits and have made at least 5 edits in the past 6 months.
Top Editor To earn and maintain Top Editor status, you must have a minimum of 100 total substantive edits and have made at least 50 edits in the past 6 months
Creator To earn and maintain Creator status, you must have created a minimum of 3 new articles that are relevant to the ICANN and IG community and have created 1 in the past month.
