NextGen@ICANN83 is a youth engagement initiative held during the ICANN83 meeting in Prague, Czechia. The program brings together students and young professionals from around the world to present research and perspectives on current issues in Internet governance.
Presentation Topics[edit | edit source]
Participants presented on a variety of pressing topics from 10–11 June 2025. The presentations focused on themes such as DNS security, digital sovereignty, network governance, and the impact of emerging technologies. Some notable presentations included:

- Sophia Longwe – The Governance Model of the Internet Exchange Point DE-CIX
- Mira Gillis – Accountability in Internet Governance
- Movitz Sunar – Complex DNS Misconfigurations and ICANN’s Role
- Massioudath Bankole – DNS and Zero Trust Architecture
- Ankita Rathi – Network Shutdowns and Internet Governance
- José Renato Laranjeira de Pereira – Satellites and Indigenous Digital Governance
- Aaron Promise Mbah – Effectiveness of State-Imposed Internet Shutdowns in Africa
- Laila Lorenzon – Digital Sovereignty and Latin American Public Infrastructures
- Barnabas Peter – Bridging the Digital Divide: Empowering Youth Through Inclusive Internet Governance
- Ayoub Ghamas – The New Digital Divide: AI and Infrastructure

The NextGen@ICANN83 sessions were held as follows:
- 10 June 2025 – Presentations Session 1 (10:45–12:15 CEST)
- 11 June 2025 – Presentations Session 2 (10:45–12:15 CEST)
Additional networking events and learning sessions were provided throughout the week, including an ICANNWiki Edit-a-thon, career development workshops, and roundtables with community leaders.
NextGen@ICANN83 continues to support ICANN’s commitment to inclusive and multistakeholder Internet governance by engaging future leaders in meaningful discourse.
