Hisrich mentioned that at the beginning of 2000, the founders bagan to advertise by purchasing banners in various websites and developing press relationship. Ulrich Essmann, a mediacal student working on a similar project like SEDO joined the team and his project added a significant contribution to SEDO. Finally the founders began negotiating with potential investors.In 2001, they found a major investor, United AG who at that time was Germany's largest register for domain names. United AG intially purchased a minor stake in newly founded SEDO but later bough about 41% for about 400,000  EUR. The rest of the shares were held by the four owners. In 2004 United bouugh additional 10% of SEDO's share by 575,000 thus making the four share holders minority holder of the business.
