Ulrich Essmann is the President of Sedo.com LLC, Sedo's US subsidiary.
Past Work[edit | edit source]
Ulrich is the developer of the domain name marketplace domain-agent.de, which he founded in 1999.[1] The project was very similar to Sedo.com, and so in 2000, Essmann joined the Sedo team, helping the other three founders with his previous experience.
After Sedo GmbH became an official entity in 2001, Essmann took two months away from the company to finish his studies, and then took another year off in 2002 to complete his medical residency. When Ulrich returned to the company in 2003, he decided to take the initiative on leading the company overseas. While away for his studies, Essmann was temporarily replaced by Matt Bentley, who later moved to the United States along with Ulrich and Jeremiah to set up Sedo.com LLC.[2]
Education[edit | edit source]
Essmann studied medicine at the medical schools of Mainz, Vienna, and Munich and finished his residency in Neurology in 2003.[3]
In 2008, he attended the Executive Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.[4]
