Taiwo Peter Akinremi is the Chief Executive Officer, Compsoftnet Technologies Ltd, a consulting firm providing privacy compliance, information security compliance, risk management and cybersecurity advisory to businesses in Nigeria. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Africa Rapporteur Network, a nongovernmental organization that advocate for language diversity and inclusion in Africa. Peter is a veteran of Internet Cooperation Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and internet governance forum (IGF). He is currently serving on the Nominating Committee (NomCom), an independent committee tasked with selecting key ICANN leadership positions including some members of the ICANN Board of Directors and the Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) Board, as well as the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Council, and the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council.
He is a member of the Noncommercial Stakeholder Group (NCSG), Noncommercial Users Constituency (NCUC) and Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency (NPOC) and has served in various capacities such as Vice Policy Committee of NCSG, Vice Chair Standing Selection Committee (SSC), GNSO, ICANN etc.
Taiwo Peter Akinremi was also an immediate past West Africa regional Coordinator for the Africa Civil Society on Information Society (ACSIS) advocating for an inclusive information society in Africa while contributing and shaping discussion as related to the internet, digital policy and inclusive information society. As the 7th Rapporteur General, Africa Internet Governance Forum, he was able to lead rapporteurs to produced concrete and concise conference proceedings. Since 2013, he becomes a resource person to IGF at both the national, regional, continental and globally. He also served on the Internet Governance Caucus (IGC) Nominating committee and Young Africa Leadership Initiative Lagos, Electoral committee (YALI)
And lastly, he is a loving father and a minister of the gospel.
