ICANN 19 took place in Rome, Italy. It was to be the first event of ICANN to be held in the city, and was deemed to have been a massive success from the event organizers. It was also the first ICANN event of 2004, and several topics were covered in the variety of different meetings that had taken place, during the course of the event.
