Alan Woods has been a Compliance Manager at Rightside since May 2014, where he is responsible for the compliance for the Registry and ensures that it meets the requirements and expectations for their 30 new gTLDs, which include .ninja, .social, .reviews, and more.[1]

Woods has also been self-employed since 2004 as a social media consultant; this includes research and seminars around the topic of Facebook and online privacy issues, much of which he also discusses on a blog called Cyberphobia. Online regulation is an important topic for Woods, who has a Masters in E-Law and wrote his thesis on the topic of online child protection.[1]

ICANN 50 was Woods' first ICANN conference. He wishes to engage heavily and effectively in the transformation and evolution of the internet, and especially in the success of the new gTLD program.[2]

Alan is currently the Registry Co-Chair for the Specification 11 Security Framework Drafting Team.
