Alan Woods is the Senior Compliance & Policy Manager at Donuts Inc and the Vice-Chair (Administration) of the Registries Stakeholer Group along with Beth Bacon, Vice-Chair (Policy). He is also a member of the EPDP Team.

Previously, Alan was the Registry Co-Chair for the Specification 11 Security Framework Drafting Team.

ICANN 50 was Woods' first ICANN conference.[1]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Prior to his position at Donuts, Woods was a Compliance Manager at Rightside, where he was responsible for the compliance for the Registry and ensuring that it meets the requirements and expectations for their new gTLDs.

Woods has also been self-employed since 2004 as a social media consultant; this includes research and seminars around the topic of Facebook and online privacy issues, much of which he also discusses on a blog called Cyberphobia. Online regulation is an important topic for Woods, who has a Master's in E-Law and wrote his thesis on the topic of online child protection.[2]
