Stephane Van Gelder is the General manager of INDOM, France's leading corporate domain name registrar.
Stephane is fully bilingual and bicultural, having spent many years living in England and France. He has always been interested in computing and studied Computer Science at Sussex University. He has a Comp. Sc. Degree at B.Sc. level.
Stephane Van Gelder moved back to France after getting his degree and started a career in sports journalism. Motorsports is also a great passion of his and he was a newspaper and television journalist covering motorcycle and car racing at the highest international level for ten years.
The entity that was to become INDOM was created in 1997 under the name ANDCONET. He joined the project in 1999 to start INDOM. He is one of the three co-founders of the firm.[1]
ICANN Involvement[edit | edit source]
Mr. Van Gelder is the current Chair of the GNSO Council; his term is to end after the 2012 Annual Meeting.[2]. In addition to his responsibilities as Chair, Stephane Van Gelder represents the Registrar Stakeholder Group on the GNSO.
