Uniregistry is a new registry operator established and managed by a group of experts in the internet and domain name industry. The company's technical infrastructure is designed and maintained by the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC), a non profit organization dedicated in developing and distributing open source software worldwide and involved in the development of DNS, DNSSEC, IPv6, and BIND. Uniregistry has applied for several gTLDs to the New gTLD Program of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The company was launched on June 10, 2012 and it is headed by its Managing Director Frank Schilling, one of the world's largest domain name portfolio owner. [1] [2]
