.buy is a new generic top level domain name (gTLD) proposed to the New gTLD Program of ICANN.

Applicants

There are several applicants for the .buy string seeking the approval of the internet governing body to include the gTLD in the Root Zone of the internet domain name system and to serve as registry operator. The applicants include: [1]

  1. PVT Registry, LLC- Joshua Bourne, Managing partner of the domain name consultancy firm, Fair Winds Partners is the contact person in the application.
  2. Famous Four Media(dot Buy Limited)- This is one of 61 domain name strings filed by the company[2]
  3. Donuts (Bitter Sunset, LLC), This is one of the 307 new gTLDs applied for by the company. The application for each domain name string is submitted under different company names. Daniel Schindler, the company's EVP for Sales & Marketing is the main contact person. [3]
