    Marilia Hirano is the Director of IANA Strategic Programs for ICANN. She began her career at ICANN as the Continuous Improvement Manager in October 2014. Prior to that, she worked for close to two years as an Operations Manager for International SOS. She has extensive experience in client relationship management and direct customer service with large brands. ICANN 51 in Los Angeles was her first ICANN conference. One of her proudest life achievements is helping to organize and coordinate the FIFA World Cup Operations.
    In the News
    • Online and in-person registration for RIPE 85 is now open. The conference will take place in Belgrade, Serbia from October 25 through 28.
    • NARALO will hold a General Assembly during ARIN50 from 20–21 October 2022 in Hollywood, California.
    • The ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP-22), in Bucharest, Romania, started yesterday, 26 September, and will run through 14 October 2022. This conference is significant for its secretary-general election, which is between two candidates with starkly different views on how to lead the technical body. Doreen Bogdan-Martin is a former U.S. Commerce Department expert on telecommunications who joined the ITU in the 1990s. Rashid Ismailov is the former deputy minister for Russia’s telecommunications ministry.
